Thermaset Limited offer a range of architectural qualicoat powder coatings designed for both interior and exterior use. This range is specially formulated on selected polyester resins and pigments to give a tough decorative finish with excellent outdoor durability. Designed for use on architectural applications such as buildings, window frames, fascia and fencing.
Architectural powder coatings serve as a protective layer for architectural elements like aluminium extrusions, window frames, and doors in buildings. Unlike traditional liquid coatings, these are applied as dry powder and solidify under heat to form a tough, long-lasting finish. This method ensures a consistent coating thickness, excellent coverage, and a smooth surface. These coatings not only enhance the appearance of architectural components but also shield them from corrosion, weather damage, and UV rays.
Durability and Longevity
Architectural powder coatings outperform traditional liquid coatings in durability. They’re engineered to endure harsh environmental conditions, ensuring lasting protection for coated surfaces. The curing process makes them resistant to chipping, scratching, fading, peeling, and corrosion. This durability ensures that buildings maintain their appearance and strength, even when faced with tough weather and daily use.
Environmental Sustainability
In today’s world, being eco-friendly is important. Our architectural powder coatings aren’t just strong and long-lasting; they’re also good for the environment. They don’t contain harmful substances like volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), making them a green choice for architectural projects.
Aesthetic Versatility
We understand that architectural design is a reflection of creativity and innovation. That’s why we offer a wide range of colours, textures, and finishes to suit any design vision. Whether you’re aiming for a sleek, modern look or a rustic, textured finish, our architectural powder coatings can bring your creative concepts to life. Coatings can be matched to customer supplied samples or to many of the RAL and BS colour ranges.
Versatile applications
Architectural powder coatings are useful for both indoor and outdoor applications. They provide sturdy, good-looking finishes for metal surfaces, resisting weather damage, rust, and sunlight. Indoors, they improve aesthetics and are easy to maintain. Outdoors, they protect structures from tough weather, keeping them looking good and structurally sound. With lots of colour options and textures, architectural powder coatings are perfect for projects like commercial buildings and city landscapes.

Additional Information
Architectural Qualicoat Powder Coatings
For maximum adhesion the substrate must be thoroughly cleaned of grease, rust etc. by shot blasting, solvent or chemical degreasing. For maximum protection it is essential to pretreat the substrate prior to the application of Thermaset Limited Architectural Polyester Powder Coating.
Aluminium
Aluminium components should receive a full multi-stage chromate conversion coating or similar chrome-free pretreatment to clean and prepare the substrate. Detailed advice should be sought from the pretreatment supplier.
Galvanized steel
Galvanized steel requires multi-stage pretreatment with either zinc phosphate or chromate conversion.
Depending on the type of galvanizing, degassing or use of anti-bubbling additives may be required. Detailed advice should be sought from the pretreatment supplier.
Ferrous substrates
Ferrous substrates require iron or zinc phosphate pretreatment. Detailed advice should be sought from the
pretreatment supplier.
24 months when stored in cool (below 25°C) dry conditions. Open boxes must be resealed.
